Oracle Shopping


Today on April 20, 2009, Oracle announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Sun Microsystems (Sun). The proposed transaction is subject to Sun stockholder approval, certain regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently, and it is business as usual.


What the buy from oracle, they spend approximately $7.4 billion and I was wondering if anybody thought this would be good or bad for the Java language. Hoping maybe it will pull good old Java out of the standstill it's been in, and make Groovy an official part of the language. But we don't no just wait and see...
